Air cleaners and purifiers are very popular for good reasons.  They are affordable and even promote good health, but to get real benefits from them, you need to understand how to shop for them.

Air cleaners generally use permanent filters to trap dust and air particles.  Air purifiers actually attack and destroy air pollutants, such as bacteria, spores, and allergens.  The Winix WAC5500 is an extremely effective air purifier that pairs up a carbon filter with a true HEPA filter to scrub effectively the air in your environment.

Unfortunately, due to the high-tech nature of air purifiers in general, many manufactures have reduced them to the equivalent of nineteenth century snake oil, which upon a single dose would even cure a rainy day.  Unfortunately, most of these units just aren’t as effective as we are led to believe.

Overview

The Winix Air Purifier is actually a very effective unit for use in bedrooms and for other smaller areas of your home.  It has a large effective range that will purify a room as large as 260 feet – and that’s pretty big.

While this air purifier does claim to use some high-tech, it still must be classified as a standard HEPA air purifier, as the more technical features – while maybe not quite gimmicks – certainly do not move this purifier into a class of its own.

Coupled with HEPA and carbon filters, the Plasma Wave technology helps filter the air to give you a very high air quality.  This unit is a great addition to any environment where someone suffers from allergies or asthma.

As the high-tech goes, the Winix WAC5500 True HEPA Air Purifier boasts both Plasma Wave technology and a Smart Sensor with “Auto Mode” although there is no clear technical explanation of what they do – nor how they do it.

One thing seems certain though.  Customers love it – so if you are looking for an air purifier that actually works – you might be willing to overlook just what is being done to achieve this effect.

Of 213 customer reviews, this product managed to place 184 of them above three stars with another 19 at the three star level.  This earns the Winix air purifier 4.5 stars out of five!  As we said, customers think the world of this product – and as the unit is at work in their homes – they are the best qualified to judge.

The few complaints you see here had to do with bad units that died in a week, or a unit that issued a bad smell, and one customer even says that the unit does not clean the air effectively, but bad units happen – and ten complaints out of well over 200 are sufficiently high odds to bank on.

Price for this unit might put you off though.  It costs around $200 - but if you want a proven effective air cleaner and are willing to pay a bit to get it – then you might just have found the solution to your problem.

As always, we do have some complaints to talk discuss.  Here, there is no complication to derive where the problems are.

To begin, this product dries in an entirely reasonable time, but it dries more slowly than a 220V unit does.  Do we need to tell you that this is to be expected?

In other cases – the unit would not heat on arrival, but that probably comes down to a damaged unit.  Nobody likes this to happen but – we all agree that we simply cannot avoid it.

In other cases, it broke down after a few months – but the operator agrees that cleaning the lint filter more often, very likely would have avoided this failure.

Overall Sonya Portable Compact Dryer gets solid ratings, and this rating holds up even after analyzing the customer complaints.  If you have a portable washer, or need both a portable washer and dryer – you can buy this item with confidence.

There is no doubt about it.  The Sole Fitness E35 Elliptical Exerciser is a great elliptical exercising machine – but we cannot recommend it!  We might just as well settle that, right up front – though you still need to do your homework because that is not the whole story and the Sole Fitness E35 Elliptical Exerciser still might be just right for YOU.

The question to buy an Elliptical Machine is very difficult to answer.  If you do not think so, then you are not asking it correctly.  There are so many differences between models, and this includes whether or not you want a home quality, or a gym machine.  Of course, the difference between them is price and quality.

This review will offer you a look at a quality elliptical exerciser, which falls between the home and gym quality elliptical exerciser.  This one is a bit higher in price but if you have read my reviews on other exercisers, you know that this is not an area that you can skimp on.

So, folks, please remember that this is a complicated and delicate piece of electromechanical equipment – so unless you have your expertise in this area – buy a decent warranty, and have the techs come out and set this machine up for you.

The map may not seem too impressive at first glance.  Of only twelve total reviews, fully eight of them are below the three star marks.  That’s nearly 50%!  Now, on principal, we simply cannot recommend any machine that scores so poorly, but as we mentioned earlier, most of the problems are difficult to take seriously, because very few (if any) of these good folks got help to put this complicated piece of equipment together.

Many people on site say they tossed the thing together in a few hours and it works like a magic wand – but you do not know those people.  They may be handier with this kind of work than you are, so to avoid frustration – pay a bit extra money and get expert help putting this thing together.  If you don’t do this – and you need help later – your desperate pleas will be summarily ignored by the company.

Our feeling is this: if you need an elliptical exercising machine, the Sole Fitness E35 Elliptical Exerciser will last a long time and will grow with your physical conditioning.  This machine is not a bad choice – but you need to do your homework on site reading the reviews – and you then need to avoid the mistakes that these customers made – most of which were unnecessary risks taken just to save a few bucks.  Don't let that happen to you.

• Nice cedar arch especially for the price, went together without real difficulty, screws a bit cheap and I replaced/added a few stainless steel ones, sturdy once well screwed-together and staked.
