Barbie has been with us a long time, and apparently, she has used the time profitably, as her home just keeps getting more impressive. The Barbie Pink 3-Story Dream Townhouse is certainly no exception. It features five rooms, an elevator and even a rooftop whirlpool tub.

The Barbie Pink 3-Story Dream Townhouse is just about real enough for your child to move into – after coming up with a reasonable security deposit, of course. This is not just a structure that your child will tire of in the near term, but a real home, apparently with real people living inside.
If you child is a real Barbie lover, then this play-house is a necessity. The house offers five different rooms of interactive fun, across three floors, and with an elevator, that links the floors together. The elevator is necessary to reach the different floors, so even though it is a tad frustrating to put together correctly, your child will need it in the end.
All the little details seem to have been included. The dining room is the perfect place for Barbie to host guests, under a chandelier that actually works. The kitchen is fully equipped to whip up a meal for her guests – even includes a kitchen timer, and Barbie can even prepare her meal with actual cooking utensils.
At the end of a long day entertaining, Barbie can pop off to her rooftop whirlpool tub to enjoy a relaxing drink of wine, overlooking the town. When Barbie decides that she wants to put her feet up, she can head off to her private lounge, where she can catch up on the news on her “pop up” flat screen TV.
All of this detail is great, but the sound effects (and lights) really bring The Barbie Pink 3-Story Dream Townhouse to life. Tiki candles illuminate the whirlpool bath, and a glowing chandelier bathes the dining room in atmosphere. Like all of us, Barbie sings in the shower, guests can actually ring the doorbell, and the fireplace crackles, just as you might expect that it should.

What do Customers Say?
The Barbie Pink 3-Story Dream Townhouse is being well received by customers, but this does not mean that the product is perfect. First, it does require assembly, but the job is not outrageously difficult by all accounts (takes a few hours), except that assembling, the elevator can be a bit confusing. It would seem that the instructions do not really capture the assembly process in useful detail, but nobody seems to have been stuck getting it together.
The build-quality leaves some questions unanswered also. The plastic is fragile, and rough play could easily cause damage to the townhouse, as Mattel seems to have made some sacrifices to the quality of their design.
Moreover, while this is expected in a play-house, we must still call out the choking hazard of The Barbie Pink 3-Story Dream Townhouse. Certainly, we expect to see small parts when we buy any dollhouse, and this one comes with 55 different pieces, so if you have not considered whether your child can safely play with such a toy – then shame on you!
