The frothing wand deserves particular mention.  Frothing your latte is the hardest skill to master for most people.  It takes time to get it right – and even then, there are no guarantees – except apparently – with this wand.  Customers remark how easy it is to froth milk with this wand, when the frothing wand on most machines is likely the principle target of criticism.

Lastly, let us just mention the amazon price of around $85 bucks – a VERY fair price for a good coffee maker – and an unbelievable bargain for a flexible espresso machine that can make cappuccino and lattes equally fast and efficiently.

The DeLonghi BAR32 Pump Espresso Machine receives 3.8 stars from earlier customers – but this is not really too surprising.  In fact, this is probably a nice score for a coffee pot.

You see, coffee makers have a hard existence.  Nobody trusts them.  A person can be using the best coffee machine in the world – and still complain that the coffee sucks.  It is sort of like wine tasting.  Experts will agree across the board that a wine – vintaged (maybe)1937 – is all the rage – when most of us just taste a bottle full of vinegar.

So, it is with coffee.  Before we will get a great cup of coffee – we need to know how to make a great cup of coffee – and we need to understand how to do it using the machine on the counter.  Your old machine is dead.  Bury it honorably and move on.  As regards the coffee machine, all we can do is to consult expert “wine tasters” and if they agree that the pot produces great coffee, then it would seem that we have our answer.

Because of this, the reviews at amazon are likely more skewed toward the negative than with most other products.  Nevertheless, if one reads them through with care, something interesting emerges.  It quickly becomes obvious that the complaints are more a matter of taste than a complaint about the quality of the machine.

In fact, many of these customer complaints take time to compliment the machine quality, and even the taste of the coffee it brews - while their specific complaint focuses on a failed part, a broken product (possibly occurring in transit), customer service etc.

A Caveat

Yeah, we know.  It would be nice if this one product was perfect, but we have found that even the very best products have caveats.  Actually, the problem here is that the product is TOO good – and this naturally has led to the proliferation of counterfeits.

You are going to want to be very careful when making your buy this item.  Many customers have complained of receiving counterfeit knock-offs shipped to them instead of the real deal.  There is no sure-fire way to protect you against this.
