How Often Should One Work Out?

How Often Should One Work Out?

Planning to start up a new fitness program?  Good for you!  A Decision to work out, get healthy and to become more active isn’t easy for most of us, but it is something you will be happy that you did.
However, if you are new to the vast world of health training, then things can become rather confusing, very quickly.  One of the more provocative questions that many people have is; how often they should work out?  The answer is simple.  Just start by asking yourself…
What You Want to Achieve?
Your health goals are the key driver of how often you need to work out.  In this article, we assume that you are a fitness novice.  In this case, you probably only want to feel healthier and to make sure you are getting enough exercise to maintain a quality, daily level of fitness.
Most experts recommend that a beginner like you work out for a minimum 20 minutes three times a week.  This gives your body plenty of time to rest up – and to develop just in case you put it through the same horror tomorrow.
You can break your 20 minutes sessions into smaller sessions as you are able, but just be sure to get in a full session.  As your overall health starts to improve, you will find that you are able to do your full work out session in one go – very easily in fact.
You might also want to build a plan that includes moderate fast walking or slow running, or even insert an incline or two into the plan as your grow stronger.  These will aid you to burn more calories in a shorter time, really pushing your health goals progress to the max.
Strength Training is Important!
Additional to your 3x20 minute cardio walking or slow running sessions per week, you might consider integrating strength training into your workout routine.  You can perform your strength training exercises on the days that you are resting from your cardio routines, giving yourself a complete workout regimen that won’t seem to daunting.
.......
.......
There are numerous benefits to strength training – not the least of which, it will help you to build up body muscle which raises your metabolism and makes it possible for you to burn more calories during your cardio exercise – or even when you are performing no exercise at all!
Remember: Less Can Be More…
Although you do need to work out habitually, do not think that you need to push yourself to the max every single day.  This is bad business, for you will really grow to hate your workouts if you really suffer when you indulge in them.  Since no sane person will torture himself for long – this is a great recipe for quitting you exercise program – and returning to your EZ Chair.
If you don’t feel like running a mile today, then just start running – and quit after 100 yards if you feel that you must.  You may be in condition to run 10 miles – you know you are – but there is no pressing reason to do it today.  Give yourself a break when you need to – and expand reach beyond your comfort zone gradually.
Another reason to work out less, instead of more, is that - if you are new to exercise, then your body isn’t going to be used to all of this physical activity, and it will need time to make repairs and adapt.  Yes, do go beyond your comfort zone, but again, do it gradually – and absolutely listen to your body should you experience pain, and always take a couple days rest each week.
That should get you started.  Build your plan, check it with your doctor if you suspect that there might be issues – and get started.  Starting is the hardest part.  After that, it’s all like running downhill.
Enjoy!

Merit Fitness 715T Plus Treadmill

Merit Fitness 715T Plus Treadmill

Having your own home treadmill is convenient.  You could still get in your workout even when the weather might be rotten or if you just don't feel like getting off to the gym.  The Merit Fitness 715T Plus Treadmill treadmill is priced sensible enough to accommodate almost any budget, so that there is no need for you to spend a fortune to put this treadmill to work in your own home.
If you want to begin your own at-home fitness program, the Merit 715T Plus treadmill makes things easy, and at an affordable price.  It offers a powerful motor to drive the belt, which supports people who weigh up to 250 pounds.  The controls permit you to set the pace your workout and to monitor your progress on the dashboard.  They also will track statistics during your workout, such as calories burned, distance traveled, time, and speed.
The workout track is 18 inches wide with a 47 inch stride roomy enough for walking or jogging and offers an “Aerosoft” cushioning system to reduce the effects of shock on your feet and legs.
The Merit Fitness 715T Plus Treadmill treadmill offers four pre-set workout programs and if you prefer to handle things yourself, the machine can be manually elevated to three different positions.  These aren’t the most extreme options out there – but the goal for buying this treadmill is good performance at low cost.

Product Features:

  • 2.5 THP (1.5 CHP) motor
  • Adjustable speed from 0 to 10 miles per hour
  • LED display tracks your time, speed, distance, calories, and more
  • 18-by-47-inch workout area with “Aerosoft” cushioning system
  • Folding frame for easy storage; measures 29 x 52 x 61 inches (W x H x D)

The biggest complaint about this treadmill is that the package goes through some tough times during shipping.  This is good news, in that the problem has nothing to do with the treadmill itself, but it seems the boxes do take a beating in transit so your product might just exhibit some damage.
Of course, other complaints have been made, as with any item on the marker, and some of these might be connected to the package handling issue.  You might be well advised to apply special handling instructions when you place your order to minimize this problem.
.......
.......
The next biggest complaint is the trouble it takes to get through to customer service.  That is not a small thing – especially when you really need them – but the question here is – where are you going to buy a treadmill at this price where the customer service is excellent?
The bottom line seems to be that most people did get great results from this unit and they commented on its low cost and reliability.  Here is what some of them had to say:
  • The price was right.  I enjoy walking so when it's raining, extremely hot or very cold outside this is the best.
  • Overall great treadmill with enough features for my home use.
  • Very sturdy as I exceed the weight rating and it handles me jogging just fine.
  • Great machine for the money...doesn't have all the bells and whistles the fitness sites have but it gits er done!!

Performing your workouts in your home is a GREAT way to get in (or stay) in shape at any time.  However, this is a real luxury when it is inconvenient to get outdoors to visit the gym for any reason.
The Merit 715T Plus treadmill is not a large treadmill, but it does appear a great machine for medium build people, even though some larger people claim it works just fine for them.  As with anything, you will want to shop around to find the very best deal to suit your needs.
For a basic treadmill at a reasonable price consider the Merit 715T Plus treadmill.  You can order it at Amazon using the link below.
Enjoy!

Lose Weight by Watching What You Drink!

Want To Lose Weight? Then Watch What You're Drinking!  Hell Boy

Everyone knows that losing weight means cutting down on your calorie intake and burning more calories through exercise. However, many people fail to consider the impact that their drinks have on their weight loss goals. Drinks contain calories just like food, but some drinks can even hinder your weight loss efforts in other ways! Here's a guide to the main drink categories you need to watch while losing weight.
Alcohol   lose weight
Many people are good at looking at their diet and knowing what they should and shouldn't eat, but don't take time to look at their alcohol consumption in the same way. Alcohol should be accounted for as part of your daily calorie allowance, so a couple for drinks a day will soon add up!
And they don't call it a "beer belly" for nothing: research has shown that alcohol can actually reduce the rate at which your body burns calories! It can also lead to some pretty unhealthy cravings, so it's important to be careful.
Coffee, Tea And Weight Loss
Some other drinks that many of us have every single day include coffee and tea. But are these helping or hindering your weight loss efforts? Studies have shown that any drinks containing caffeine can interfere with weight loss. The stimulation that occurs after you drink caffeine, whether from coffee, tea or even soda, really isn't good for cravings!
Many of us also even link the drinking of tea or coffee to eating a snack. In this case, even if the coffee itself isn't doing you any harm it's still encouraging your snacking habit, which isn't going to help you lose weight!
Many people drink green tea for weight loss. There's been a lot of hype over this drink in recent years, and studies have shown that green tea extract may help you to lose weight. However, drinking too much green tea means you'll still experience all the negative effects of caffeine listed above.
Juice     lose weight
Many people switch their unhealthy sodas for juice when trying to lose weight, on the assumption that this is "healthy". While it's true that fruit juice does come with more health benefits than sugary drinks, you still have to be careful about how much you're drinking. Make sure you choose juice without added sugar and include the calories within your daily allowance. Try not to have huge amounts in one go, as you'll want to keep your blood sugar levels stable.
 Water
When you're trying to lose weight, it's vital that you drink enough water. Not only will you need this to keep you hydrated while you're working out, you'll also want to use it as a way to make losing weight easier. There's no miracle cure for losing weight, but water comes pretty close.
Did you know that what you think is hunger is often thirst? Drinking more water as standard every day can reduce those cravings that force you to overeat. And drinking a couple of glasses of water before each meal can help fill you up to prevent overeating. This makes it a lot easier to reduce your portion sizes!
The truth is that water is always best. If you're used to drinking coffee, sugary drinks, alcohol and soda, then gradually replacing them with water will help your weight loss efforts, even if you do nothing else!
